Woodville is nestled in the northeast mountains of Alabama. The town has the Historic Hodges Barber Shop built in 1922. The barber shop still has the rusty H2O pump that was dug in the mid 1850's. There is a trough that holds H2O & a rail to hitch your horse near the well. The town has down home cooking at The Depot. The Depot offers country cooking at it's best. They have different specials every night. There is always a crowd at The Depot. Woodville High School is nestled in the heart of Woodville & has kindergarten through 12th grade with over 600 kids. The Woodville Panthers are in their second year of football. The students are excited about having a football team again this year. Cathedral Caverns are located around Woodville. At the caverns you can walk down into the cave. The cave offers tours for visitors. Everyone can go down into the cave & see different formations on the rocks. There is one that looks like Lincoln laying down in his bed. There is also one of an eagle. Visitors love the tour & it lasts over an hour. Woodville is also the home to Parnell Creek RV Park & Campground. Come visit the campground & enjoy true southern hospitality. The park has new owners & they have added a lot of amenities to the campground. Parnell Creek offers a full service campground with mini golf, propane, playground, camp store, swimming, & a lot of other things. They have cabins for rent & 34 campsites with hook ups. The campground can accommodate any size RV. The campground enjoys groups & has special rates to accommodate the groups. The campground has picnic areas & an activity center. The Parnell Creek Campground offers campsites & cabins for everyone to enjoy Woodville. There is also Alabama Regulators Cowboy Gun Shoot. Everyone dresses up in cowboy clothes. You will see Cowboys & Cowgirls all shooting their favorite pistols. They take their six shooters & rifles. There are over ten stages set up for the cowboys to shoot the targets. They shoot the first Sunday of every month. Spectators are welcome to come watch all the fun. They have a Saloon, a Bank, a hanging area, a Barn & a lot of other shooting stops. Woodville also has Old McDonald’s Petting Zoo. The zoo has a large variety of animals on six wooded acres. The children get to see the animals close up & pet them. The zoo has Porcupines, Pigs, Siberian Lynx, Raccoons, Goats, Deer, Ducks, Swans, Pheasants, Donkeys, Llama & many more. They also have a picnic area, playground, & gift shop. The is also a Hayride where the kids can see the animals. Woodville is also the home of Leon Venerable. Leon is an aspiring country music singer. He is very well know in the area & stays booked for parties, reunions, homecomings & other events.
