Fishing, Activities, & Attractions The Arkansas White River is famous the world over for trophy rainbow, brown, and cutthroat trout. Several line class world record trout have been caught close to Denton Ferry RV. Catching several 12 to 20-inch rainbow in a few hours is also common in the White. The North Fork River, which is 25 minutes away, is also a top trout fishery where you'll catch rainbow, brown, cutthroat, and brook trout. The North Fork is most famous for holding the former world record all tackle brown trout, a trout which weighed nearly 40 pounds! Both the White and the North Fork offer excellent bait, spinning, and fly fishing adventures. In addition to superb trout fishing, you'll also discover striped bass fishing in Lake Norfork (20 minutes away) where the average striper weighs in at 16 pounds. The Lake record striper is just over 50 pounds, and 30 pound stripers are fairly common. In addition to the stripers, there's good crappie, largemouth, smallmouth, and catfish populations in Lake Norfork. Bull Shoals Lake (20 minutes away) also has good fishing for bass, catfish, and walleye. Attractions within an hour of Denton RV include Bull Shoals Caverns, Mountain Village 1890, Top O' The Ozarks observation tower, Bull Shoals and Lake Norfork Dams, Norfork National Trout Hatchery, Ozark and Buffalo River National Forests, Ozark Folk Center, Mystic Caverns, and several scenic drives. Along the routes to all these destinations you'll spot several little antique and Ozark craft stores, restaurants, and similar attractions allowing you a close-up look at the Ozarks.
