| Description: 14 campsites among dunes on this windswept beach at north end of King Range. Almost all sites are in the sun. This is a popular area for camping, surfing, & fishing. Campground is northern access point to Lost Coast Trail. A seven mile (round trip) beach hike leads to the historic Punta Gorda Lighthouse.
Location: Take U. S. 101 exits at Garberville, Honeydew or Ferndale. Follow signs to Petrolia. Turn off of the main road (Mattole Road) onto Lighthouse Road, on the south side of the Mattole River Bridge. Follow Lighthouse Road for five miles to the site.
