Description: nine campsites a ridgetop above the Pacific. Set in a forest of tan-oaks, Douglas fir, & madrone. A short walk across King Peak Road leads to ocean vistas. Shelter Cove & Ocean access for activities such as fishing & boating are about 20 minutes from the site. Site is universally accessible with compacted gravel walkways. Location: From US 101 exit at Redway, & take Shelter Cove Road for 22.5 miles to King Peak Road. Right on King Peak Road for 3.5 miles to the campground entrance. Season: year round. Reservations: no. Available: Biking Fishing Picnicking Boating (Motorized) Hiking/Backpacking Scenic Driving Boating (Non-motorized) Horseback Riding Hunting Water Sports RV Sites Restrooms. Camping Wildlife Viewing Notes: Camping stay 14 days maximum per year, all sites included. Pets allowed only if kept on a leash.
