Campground: Bishop Field Office, Horton Creek Campground
Description: 53 campsites on an alluvial fan next to Horton Creek. Outstanding opportunities for mountain biking, equestrian, off-highway vehicle use & hiking. Along the alluvial fan to the west, wintering deer herds often graze in the early spring. Be watchful for mountain lions at this time of year. Location: Take US 395 to Sawmill Road. Proceed west, then turn north on South Round Valley Road for about three miles. Watch for campground entrance sign. Season: April 20 - November one Reservations: no Biking Fishing Picnicking Hiking/Backpacking Scenic Driving Horseback Riding Hunting Camping Wildlife Viewing Off Highway Vehicles RV Sites Restrooms Notes: Camping is limited to 14 days. Dogs must be under control. Motorized vehicles required to stay on existing routes.
