Description: 4400-foot elevation. nine campsites near the border of the Chumash Wilderness. Location: From Taft, go eight miles south on CA 33, & continue 13 miles south on CA 33/CA 166. Turn south to stay on CA 33 & go 15 miles, then east to the end of Apache Canyon Road. Season: spring - fall. Fee: Adventure Pass required. Reservations: NO. Available: Hiking/Backpacking Hunting Camping Wildlife Viewing RV Sites Restrooms. Notes: Maximum RV length 16 feet. Adventure Pass required to park anywhere in the Mount Pinos Ranger District. Any kind of open flame use, including use of camp stoves or smoking, requires a free Campfire Permit from the ranger station.
