Description: The Middle Fork features Feather Falls, the third highest waterfall (640 feet) in the United States. This northern California river is remote & has an outstanding fishery. Whitewater Class V+. There are a few developed campgrounds along this corridor. Location: The entire Middle Fork downstream from the confluence of its tributary streams one kilometer south of Beckwourth, California. Season: year round Fee: no Reservations: no Fishing Picnicking Boating (WW) Wildlife Viewing Drinking Water RV Sites Restrooms Notes: The North Fork Feather River has more moderate whitewater, with Class III-V rapids.
