Description: 4800-foot elevation. 42 campsites on Palomar Mountain, including five doubles. The Palomar Observatory visitor center is a short hike away. Location: From Warner Springs, go south on CA 79, then 13 miles northwest CA 76, then north on County Road S6. Travel north on S6 to the campground. Season: year round. Reservations: NO. Available: Picnicking Hiking/Backpacking Camping Wildlife Viewing Group Campgnd RV Sites Drinking Water Restrooms. Notes: 27-foot maximum RV length or vehicle + trailer length. No wood or charcoal fires allowed in the forest; only fuel-fed stoves & lanterns permitted. Adventure Pass required to park elsewhere in the forest.
