| Description: Colorado River State Park is actually five sites along the Colorado River as it flows through the Grand Junction area. Camping at Island Acres & Fruita. Fruita also has group camping. Day use activities including swimming, picnicking, trails, fishing & boating for hand propelled or electric powered craft. There are ten river miles between Corn Lake & Connected Lakes & another ten miles of floatable river between Connected Lakes & Fruita. Group picnic facilities are available & may be reserved by contacting the park. A trail system winds through stands of tall trees & along the banks of this famous & magnificent western river.
Location: Island Acres: I-70 to Exit 47, five miles east of Palisade.
Fruita: I-70 to Exit 19 at Fruita. South on HWY 340 for 1/4 mile.
Connected Lakes: Southwest portion of Grand Junction; travel northwest on Dike Road from Broadway
Corn Lake: 32 Road, south of D Road at the Colorado River
Wildlife Area: On D Road at 30 1/4 Road
Season: year round.
