| Description: Highline Lake State Park is the center for H2O sports in the Grand Valley of western Colorado. The park features shaded, grassy areas & maintained turf. Due to the park`s low elevation, it is an ideal getaway from early spring to late fall. Of the two lakes in the park, Highline Lake is designated for water-skiers & boaters, & Mack Mesa Lake is designated for wakeless boating. Both offer great fishing. Great blue herons, white pelicans & whooping cranes are just a few of the migratory species which stop at the park. An overlook provides an excellent spot from which to watch the park`s wildlife, especially during the winter, when thousands of ducks & geese migrate here. Highline Lake is also a great place to establish a base camp for mountain biking & river rafting. Area trails connect to extensive trail networks on BLM land including the Kokopelli trails & the Bookcliffs trails. Hunting for waterfowl.
