Morganton Campgrounds offer quick access to Blue Ridge Scenic Railroad, Swan Drive-In, & many fairs & festivals. Morganton was the original county seat of Fannin County. Blue Ridge became the county seat when the railroal went there instead of to Morganton. Over 40% of the area in Fannin county is National Forest which attracts both recreation minded & nature observing visitors. At Whispering Pines Campground & Cabins we get many visitors that are interested in vacation & or retirement homes in the area. The demand for realestate has put upward presure on prices. Many of the homes built in the area are log homes. At Whispering Pines Campground we get a mix of retired people & families. Everone enjoys the laid back atmosphere of the North Georgia mountains. Fall is an especially plesent time to visit Morganton with a little nip in the air the leaves stoart to change color & all the nearby communities have a fall festival of some kind.
