Tybee offers a place for all seasons with sandy beaches, great fishing, & history at every turn. We're just over a block from the beach & an easy 15 mile drive to historic downtown Savannah. If you visit during Summer, you'll enjoy our large pool & screened pavilion. You can ride your bike around the island & enjoy the slow pace. Cast your shrimp net in the river or go crabbing in the marsh. Sun & swim at the beach as you listen to the sound of sea gulls & watch children playing in the surf. If you are tired & hungry after all that, visit one of the restaurants & sample local seafood. Before the day ends, go back to your campsite & visit with your "neighbors" over a cool drink as the moon shines down on ancient oaks. Like cooler weather? The best time for exploring the beach is in late Fall, Winter, & Spring before the summer crowds. If you visit in Winter, bring your friends & join us for potluck dinners & card games in our 'River Room'. Go into Savannah & see the old city decked out in its holiday best for the Christmas season. Tour homes, take a carriage ride, or feel your spine tingle as a costumed narrator tells of the antics of the city's more ghostly inhabitants.
