| Whispering Pines Campground is located between Bucksport & Ellsworth in the Penobscot/Acadia area on U.S. Route one in a beautiful natural setting, owned & operated by the Gates family since 1977.
We are a small, 50 site, family-oriented campground situated on a beautiful, ten mile long, 130 foot deep lake. It is called "Toddy Pond", because a narrow lake in Maine is called a pond. We offer campers free use of our rowboat & canoes. Many people bring their kayaks to enjoy our lake, the other lakes nearby, & the saltwater bays. Boating enthusiasts can use the recently rebuilt State launch 1/4 mile from us. You may often see & hear the loons on our lake as you enjoy our peaceful, quiet setting amidst majestic pines. A 4200 acre parcel of land has recently opened 1/2 mile from the campground for biking & hiking with beautiful views of Great Pond Mountain. |
