| The Wild Cherry Resort is an up scale RV & Motor Coach resort located just north of Traverse City, Michigan. The RV park is built on a four acre lake between Lake Leelanau & Suttons Bay in Leelanau County.
If you like you can rent a golf cart & take a personal tour of the working cherry farm that is operated by the Spinniken family, a 7th generation fruit growing family that moved here from Germany. Tours of the farm & cherry harvest will also be available in a covered wagon, you will be amazed how the trees are harvested. The 200 acre farm includes 30 acres of wooded trails as well as a cherries & apples.
It is our mission to share our love of the country life with our guests & at the same time provide them with a first class resort from which they can tour the beautiful Leelanau Peninsula. Wine tours of the area's 14 plus wineries are becoming very popular as well as visits to quaint villages of Leland, Lake Leelanau, Northport, & Suttons Bay. We are just a short drive from Traverse City but trust me a long way from the city.
Start you day with a walk in the woods, pick some wild raspberries for breakfast or pick some sweet cherries to eat, all within walking distance from your RV. Each site includes a large patio, picnic table, H2O, sewer, electricity, & local phone service. You will receive a free morning newspaper each day to go with your coffee & breakfast.
If you enjoy sweet cherries plan on visiting us the last two weeks of July & the first two weeks of August. You will be able to pick your own large black sweet cherries, or tart cherries. This is also the time to watch the machines harvest the cherries. Sit by the fire in our log cabin style clubhouse in the evenings, it is there for your enjoyment & is also utilized by rally groups for their meetings & events.
