| Roys now has two locations to provide all the services for fishermen, hunters & campers. Both are located on beautiful Lake Washington. Roy’s location #1 is located in Chatham, Mississippi, which is to be found on the north end of the lake. Location #2 is located on the south end of the lake in Glen Allen, Mississippi. Both places are on the banks of Lake Washington - right in the heart of the Delta. Nine miles long, one 1/4 miles wide, & up to 20 feet deep, Lake Washington has catered to the needs of anglers since 1950 & is fast becoming a hot spot for hunters as well. Bass, crappie, catfish, & bream are plentiful year-round. However, during the winter months hunters enjoy the well-known Yazoo National Wildlife Refuge, which is home for state record white-tails. Roy’s #2 is a mere two miles west of the refuge, & Roy’s # one is five miles northwest of the refuge.
Pam Hammond, owner of Roy's, invites all anglers & hunters to bunk in the lakeside cabins she has available for rent. Both locations offer twenty rental units, & 18 RV spots with full hookups are available for anglers, hunters, & vacationers who just want to come & enjoy the beauty of the lake & surrounding areas. A primitive tent camping area is also located along the lake bank.
At Roy's, customers can enjoy a hot breakfast & a hearty lunch in the store's cafe. Dinner is offered seasonally to accommodate hunters & anglers. Hunting & fishing licenses as well as duck stamps are available. Other necessities such as, gasoline, bait & tackle, cold drinks, bread, eggs, seasonal fruits & vegetables, laundry detergent, are also obtainable. |
