Campground: Dome Mountain Wildlife Management Area

Description: 4,680 acres. Dailey Lake is a popular windsurfng & fishing area. The lake supports rainbow trout, yellow perch & walleye. Campground is free. Year-round birdwatching for eagles, hawks, loons, swans & a variety of ducks. Elk & mule deer can often be seen from Dailey Lake. Area trails tempt hikers & horseback riders to head into the Snow Mountains, & there is trailhead access to the Absaroka-Beartooth Wilderness. Seasonal hunting for elk & mule deer. Location: From Livingston, go south 21 miles on US 89 to Emigrant. East on Chico Road for one mile, then turn south onto MT Route 540 & go three miles. Turn south on Dailey Lake Road (also Sixmile Creek Road), then go eight miles to Dailey Lake. Season: year round. Fee: no. Reservations: no.
