| Description: Elevation 2970 feet. Flathead Lake is the largest natural freshwater lake west of the Mississippi River. As if the waters of the glacial lake is not spectacle enough, it is framed by three awesome, snow-clad mountain ranges. Fishing for trophy lake trout, lake whitefish & yellow perch.
The Yellow Bay Unit includes five campsites (4 tent-only) on Yellow Bay Creek & a wide beach for swimmers & sunbathers. This is the heart of the extensive orchards, whose cherry blossoms brighten the hillsides during the spring. Visitors who are not lazing in the H2O or on the beach also enjoy scuba diving, bird watching, & boating. A tribal fishing license is required as well as a state license.
