| Description: five campsites on Gipsy Lake. Fishing for rainbow trout, hand launch for non-motorized boats. A hiking trail goes south from the campground into the Big Belt Mountains, past several spectacular mountain lakes, to an area called the Needles, for its odd rock formations. This area was known for its extremely productive gold mines in the 19th century, & historic mines are near the campground. Motorized travel on area trails is prohibited on some area trails to protect the wildlife.
Location: From Townsend, go east two miles on US 12, ten miles north on MT-284, about 15 miles east on Duck Creek Road #139, then south less than a mile to the campground. Alternately, go 16 miles west from White Sulfur Springs on Birch Creek Road, then south into the campground.
