Campground: Long Lake State Recreation Area
Long Lake State Recreation Area is a natural sandhill lake consisting of 155 acres at normal H2O level. The State of Nebraska owns 80 acres of which 50 acres are marsh or H2O & 30 acres of rolling sand hills which produce an abundance of warm & cool season grasses. Attractions A camping & picnic area is on the southwest shore of the lake & is equipped with tables, fireplaces & toilets. Long Lake SRA provides fishing opportunity in the summer & winter months with bullhead & northern pike being the primary fish caught. Waterfowl hunting is the main game harvest potential offered by Long Lake. The shoreline has an abundance of vegetation affording natural blind sites for waterfowl hunting. Grouse can also be found on the area but with the small amount of land the hunting potential is limited.
