| Description: Elevation 7,600 feet. 40 sites, including five double sites, shaded by cottonwoods in Lamoille Canyon. One site is handicapped-accessible, & can be reserved. High towering cliffs completely surrounding campground.
A trail leads south into Thomas Canyon from the campground, bordering the Ruby Mountains Wilderness. Wildlife watching for bighorn sheep, mountain goats, & the exotic Himalayan snowcock, which frequents the nearby Island Lake area. Rock climbing on about 40 established routes, most of which are bolted. Fixed protection assists with ice climbing in the winter.
A self-guided nature trail originates in the campground, as is a self-guided interpretive auto tour of Lamoille Canyon. Fishing in Lamoille Creek, adjacent to the campground.
Location: Approximately six miles southeast of Lamoille, along the Lamoille Scenic Byway (FR 660).
