Campground: The Blue Ridge Parkway
Parkway meanders for 469 miles & connects Shenandoah & Great Smoky Mountains National Parks (the latter in Western North Carolina). Camping is allowed only at designated sites & generally, the nine Parkway campgrounds are open from May - October. All campgrounds offer sanitary dump stations, ranger programs & access to hiking trails. Each loop has a common comfort station with running water. Permits must be requested in advance.
