Description: 4550-foot elevation. 14 campsites on Cabin Lake, which is a dry lake. This area is balanced between the high desert around Fort Rock & the forest of the Cascade Mountains. Dispersed recreation in the forest & on nearby BLM lands includes bird watching, mountain biking on area roads, exploring the surrounding lava fields, & big game hunting for antelope, elk, & deer. Location: From Bend, go about 30 miles south on US 97, 26 miles east on Forest Road 22, & then six miles south on FR 18. Season: April _ November. Fee: no.
