Campground: Little Lava Lake Campground

Description: 4750-foot elevation. 12 campsites on Little Lava Lake, the source of the Deschutes River. Fishing for rainbow trout, brook trout, whitefish, & chub. This is a good lake for canoeing, rafting, & wading. A flow of lava lies along its west shore, dividing Lava Lake & Little Lava Lake. A trail leads around this side of the lake, then south around Lava Lake into the Three Sisters Wilderness, to Williamson Mountain. Location: From Bend, go 38 miles west & south on County Road 46 (Cascade Lakes Highway), about one mile east on Forest Road 4600-500, then 0.5 mile east on FR 4600-520. Season: April - October. Reservations: NO.
