| Description: 4350-foot elevation. 24 campsites on South Twin Lake Lake. The lake is screened by heavy forest, & so stays relatively windless & calm. Fishing for rainbow trout is good, & there is ice fishing in the winter, when access permits. There is a dirt boat ramp for boat access. This lake was created by steam explosions, caused when hot volcanic magma hit groundwater.
Location: From Bend, go about 27 miles south on US 97, 11 miles west on County 43, 4.5 miles west on Forest Road 42, then two miles south on FR 4260.
Season: April - October.
