| Description: 1800-foot elevation. two campsites along Sharps Creek at the base of the historic Hardscrabble Grade. Mineral was once a stopover place for miners before they started up the long steep grade to the Bohemia Mining Area. Several trails are in the area; the one from the campground leads up Fairview Creek. Two others begin at the end of the five mile dirt road which winds east from the campground, & explore the historic Bohemia mining district. The Bohemia National Recreation Trail follows the historic route from Oakland to the gold camps, & has been improved with several shelters along the Calpooya Ridge.
Location: From I-5 at Cottage Grove, take exit 174, & go 13 miles east on Row River Road (County Road 2400), then 12 miles south on Sharps Creek Road (County Road 2460), bearing east when the road turns to gravel.
