| Description: 1600-foot elevation. 11 campsites, including one double site, on the wild & scenic North Umpqua River. Fly fishing for steelhead & whitewater rafting in the river. This is a major put-in for rafting the river. Hiking on the North Umpqua National Recreation Trail, or along Boulder Creek, through the Boulder Creek Wilderness. All mechanized vehicles are prohibited in the wilderness, including mountain bikes.
This river is an important anadromous fish hatchery. Be careful about wading in the river & inadvertently stepping on fish spawning gravel from September - June. Please read the Oregon Sportfishing Regulations for specific restrictions on fishing the North Umpqua River.
Location: From Roseburg, go 52 miles east on OR 138.
Season: May 20 - September 15.

Notes: Between July one & the end of October, boating is restricted before ten am & after six pm to lessen conflicts with anglers. From July 15- October 31, the segment above Bogus Creek is closed to boating, for the same reason. |
