| Description: 4,200-foot elevation. 36 campsites under the cottonwood & juniper trees near the Donner und Blitzen Wild & Scenic River. This campground was named for a series of springs which flows through the area. The rock bluffs above the campground were formed by lava & ash flows. Many types of warblers, raptors, & other birds nest at or migrate through Page Springs. Bighorn sheep live in the northeastern end of Steens Mountain, & you can see a wild horse herd on the southwest end of the loop road.
Rattlesnakes, ticks, & stinging nettles can be found near the river, particularly in summer months. River is difficult to cross in early spring. The road is also great for mountain biking.
