Campground: Columbia River Gorge National Scenic Area, Mount Hood National Forest, Historic Columbia River Highway

Description: Beginning from Troutdale, the road passes along the edge of the Columbia River Gorge, offering spectacular views from pull-outs & from historic Vista House Visitor Center. From there, the road drops into the 4000-foot gorge & passes by the most magnificent & celebrated waterfalls in Oregon, including Latourell Falls, Shepherd`s Dell, Wahkeena Falls, Bridal Veil Falls, & the perennially popular Multnomah Falls. Location: From Troutdale, go south along the Sandy River & cross the Sandy River Bridge. Go east on Woodard Road, Bell Road, & Crown Point Highway (OR 100) through Springdale & Corbett to I-84. Continue east on I-84 to Mosier (exit # 69), then take US 30 east to The Dalles. Note that the route is consistently marked with keyhole-shaped signs, & not necessarily with route numbers or names.
