| Description: 4170-foot elevation. 16 campsites with horse facilities in a high meadow on the North Umpqua River. Trailhead for the North Umpqua Trail, which heads west down the river or east into the Mount Thielsen Wilderness, to Lake Lucile & Maidu Lake, & also connects with the Pacific Crest National Scenic Trail. This campground is in the Oregon Cascades National Recreation Area, an extremely scenic, mostly roadless area open to all kinds of dispersed, non-motorized recreation, such as hiking, horseback riding, backcountry camping, fishing, hunting, & nordic skiing.
Location: From Roseburg, go 74 miles east on OR 138, 4.5 miles north on Forest Road 60 (Windigo Pass Road), then 1.5 miles east on FR 6000-958, the Kelsay Valley Road.
