Campground: Poole Creek Campground

Description: 4150-foot elevation. 59 campsites & a group campground just south of the mouth of Poole Creek on the west shore of Lemolo Lake in a lodgepole pine, mountain hemlock, & Shasta red fir forest. The group campground can accomodate up to 40 people. Fishing for kokanee salmon, brook, brown, & rainbow trout. The lake is deep enough for waterskiing. Hiking trails nearby lead to Lemolo Falls, the North Umpqua River National Recreation Trail, & the Pacific Crest National Scenic Trail. Umpqua hot springs is about nine miles west of the campground. The H2O is about 105º - 117º, with a primitive shelter over the pool. The pool does get crowded on weekends, & bathing suits are recommended. No camping at the hot springs. Location: From Roseburg, go 72 miles east on OR 138, then five miles north on Forest Road 2610. Season: May 15 - October 31.
