Campground: Applegate Ranger District, Rogue River National Forest, Beaver - Sulphur Campground
Description: 2100-foot elevation. ten campsites, including six tent-only sites on Beaver Creek. This is one of the areas on the forest where recreational gold panning is allowed. Permitted equipment includes pans, dredges, hand-held sluices,and metal detectors. Application of all equipment & activity described is restricted to the stream bed up to the normal highwater level. Stream banks are not to be undermined or disturbed in any manner. Location: From Jacksonville, go about seven miles south on OR 238, 8.5 miles south on Upper Applegate Road, then three miles east on Forest Road 20. Season: May 28 - November 15. Reservations: NO. Available: Hunting Camping Drinking Water RV Sites Restrooms. Notes: 12-foot maximum RV length.
