| Description: 4600-foot elevation. 19 campsites, including two tent-only sites, on Fish Lake. Swimming, boating, & fishing for brook trout in the lake. A picnic shelter can be reserved for groups. An easy trail for hikers & mountain bikers goes 2.5 miles around Fish Lake, & another heads west to the Ashland Gap. The trail around the lake can be hiked to the junction with the Pacific Crest National Scenic Trail. No mountain bikes are permitted on the Pacific Crest trail.
In the winter, area trailheads lead to over 82 miles of snowmobile & cross-country ski trails. A Sno-Park permit is required from November - April, available at Oregon Department of Motor Vehicles & many sporting goods stores throughout the state.
Location: From Medford, go 35 miles east on OR 140.
