| Description: 1700-foot elevation. 27 campsites, including four tent-only sites & a group area on the Applegate River. Hiking on the historic Gin Lin Mining Trail, where you can view artifacts & other reminders from the Gold Rush days, when Chinese immigrants conducted large-scale mining here. There is also a nature trail in the campground.
Location: From Jacksonville, go about seven miles south on OR 238, six miles south on Upper Applegate Road, then one mile west on Forest Road 788.
Season: April 30 to September 30.
Available: Drinking Water Exhibits Cultural-Historic Sites Restrooms.
Notes: The campground is open during the off-season for a reduced fee. 24-foot maximum RV length. |
