Campground: North Fork Sprague River

Description: The Wild & Scenic North Fork Sprague River flows from the Head of River Spring 15 miles around the border of the Gearheart Mountain Wilderness to the edge of the Fremont National Forest. Scenic attractions include broad, high elevation meadows & abundant wildflowers. Facilities include two campgrounds & a wilderness trailhead which parallels the river. The trail is open to hikers & horse riders, & connects to a larger trail system, which leads to Blue Lake, a popular angling destination in the wilderness. The river is open to flyfishing for trout, only with artificial flies, from April 22 - October 31. Location: From Paisley, go about 18 miles southwest on Forest Road 33, eight miles north on FR 28, & west four - eight miles on FR 3411. Season: year round. Fee: for camping. Reservations: no.
