Description: 2900-foot elevation. 24 campsites on Haystack Reservoir, at the edge of the Crooked River National Grasslands. This high desert campground is surrounded by red rimrock. Activities on the lake include bird watching, especially shore birds & raptors; wind surfing; H2O skiing; boating; swimming; & fishing for largemouth bass, black crappie, bluegill, trout, & kokanee salmon. Location: From Madras, go ten miles south on US 97, four miles west on Forest Road 96, & one mile north on FR 9605. Season: year round. Reservations: NO.
