Campground: Loon Lake
Description: 61 campsites, a large picnic area, & group areas on Loon Lake. The lake was created by a historic landslide, when house-sized boulders, still visible by the boat ramp, dammed the creek. The lake is about one half-mile wide, two miles long, & is over 200 feet deep in some places. The climate in summer is ideal for swimming, boating, H2O skiing, picnicking, sun bathing, & camping. A nature trail explores the area. Interpretive programs during summertime are held in the ampitheater. Location: From I-5, go west on OR 38 to Mill Creek Road, then south seven miles on Mill Creek road. Season: Memorial Day - September 30.
