Campground: North Waldo Campground

Description: 5400-foot elevation. 58 campsites on large & scenic Waldo Lake. Fishing, swimming, & boating on the lake are the most popular activities. The boat launch here is in fairly deep H2O, so accommodates larger sailboats than at the other campgrounds. Area trailheads access numerous wilderness trails & lakes, most notably the Rigdon, Wahanna & Torrey Lakes. A one-mile trail along the lakeshore connects with Islet campground. Interpretive ranger programs are presented in the ampitheater on weekends from late July to Labor Day. A dump station is available near Islet campground. Location: From Oakridge, go 25 miles east on OR 58, 11 miles north on Forest Road 5897 (Waldo Lake Road), west on FR 5898, then north on FR 5895. Season: July - September (or first heavy snow.
