Campground: Rogue-Umpqua Scenic Byway
Description: Campgrounds & picnic areas line the route. Trails for hiking. Rafting & kayaking are extremely popular in both rivers, & motorized boating is permitted in Diamond Lake. Dispersed camping is permitted off the route, as are a number of other activities, like OHV use, mountain biking, snowmobiling, & hunting. Location: From Roseburg, go east on OR 138, then southwest on OR 230, OR 62, & OR 234 to Gold Hill. The route is about 159 miles, one way & takes a minumum of 4-5 hours. Season: year round. Fee: for some campgrounds, trailheads. Reservations: no.
