| Description: The Columbia River Gorge has been a popular destination since the last ice age. This powerful river has carved the only sea-level opening in the Cascade Range, a highway for salmon & humans alike. Ainsworth is at the end of the historic Columbia River Highway, convenient for touring the many tall waterfalls which tumble from the granite ridges towering over the river valley. From the park, you can hike up for a great view of St Peter`s Dome, a massive basalt monolith. Ampitheater for interpretive programs. The campground offers 45 RV sites with full hookup, four walk-in tent sites.
Location: From Troutdale, go 17 miles east on I-84 to exit #35.
