| Description: The trees are the center of attention at this park along the Chetco River. The park contains a grove of virgin Oregon myrtle trees, whose scent perfumes the air. These myrtles have a very limited range. The northernmost stand of giant redwoods in the country is reached via a short nature trail, which winds along the riverside. If trees don`t thrill you, turn to the river for pleasure, rafting, swimming, or fishing in its waters. Fall & winter salmon & steelhead runs attract anglers, but the fishing is generally good year round, whether flyfishing from the gravel bars or angling from a drift boat. Wildlife love this area too, including otters, osprey, & many small mammals.
Accomodations include 53 RV sites with electric hookup & three cabins. Campground & cabins face the river. A primitive campground is open to those who care to hike or bike in.
