| Description: The John Day River runs through the broad valley hemmed in by the Blue Mountains, the Strawberry Mountains, & the Aldrich Mountains. Stay down by the river while exploring the woods & the wilderness, the history & the prehistory of this idyllic valley. Fishing in the river for trout & semi-annual steelhead runs. Rocky Mountain elk & mule deer can often be seen feeding near the campground. The campground 30 RV sites with electric hookup, two tepees, & a primitive hiker/biker camp.
