Description: A campground includes 209 sites with full hookup, 124 sites with electric only, 252 tent sites, five group tent sites, 15 yurts, & backcountry camping with a permit. Other than sleeping, you can relax by beachcombing the dunes & shore, exploring the history of the fort & the shipwreck, hiking or biking the trails, swimming in the freshwater lake, or checking out the area wildlife. For history buffs, taking a tour of the WWII underground battery, & fortifications from the Spanish War & WWI is a must. For a more luxurious experience, stay at the palatial Officers` Inn Bed & Breakfast, built in 1905, & decorated with period furnishings. Location: From Astoria, go ten miles west on US 101.
