Campground: LaPine State Park

Description: This subalpine forest is home to Oregon`s largest ponderosa pine, "Big Red," which is 162 feet tall, has a 28.9-foot diameter, & may be older than 500 years. Fishing in the wild & scenic Deschutes River & the Fall River. Raptors nest in the park & are often seen fishing in the rivers. The park contains over 2300 acres to explore. Facilities include 95 RV sites with full utility hookup, 50 RV sites with electric hookup five cabins, & three yurts. Location: From Bend, go 27 miles southwest on US 97. Season: year round.
