Campground: Minam State Recreation Area
Description: In the steep valley formed by the Wallowa River, large pines shade this 602-acre park. Fishing & rafting on the river, including steelhead runs in the spring & fall. Other resident species include mule deer, black bear, Rocky Mountain elk & an occasional mountain lion. Campground has 12 primitive camp sites. Location: From Elgin, go 15 miles northeast on OR 82. Season: March - November. Reservations: no.
