Campground: Umpqua Lighthouse State Park

Description: The Umpqua River Lighthouse, a 65-foot tower with a distinctive red & white lens, stands above Winchester Bay, where the Umpgua River flows into the sea. Summers, you can take one of the daily tours of the lighthouse. The picnic area & campground are located on the shore of Lake Marie, a small freshwater lake with a sandy beach open to swimming, fishing, & non-motorized boating. Campground has 20 RV sites with full utility hookup, 42 tent sites, two yurts, & two one-room log cabins. The park is smack in the middle of the Oregon Dunes National Recreation Area. Nearby on the dunes is fun for the off-road enthusiast, the hiker, the naturalist, & the unusual wildlife. Location: From Reedsport, go six miles south on US 101. Season: year round.
