| Description: The highest lake in Oregon is also one of the most scenic, flanked as it is by the 9000-foot peaks of the Wallowa Range. The area around the lake is developed with full resort facilities, including a tram which climbs 4000 feet to the top of Mount Howard. Here, you can ride bumper boats, ride your horse, hike, canoe, play miniature golf, & fish in the lake. Wildlife is common in the mountains. Convenient to the renowned Hells Canyon Wilderness. Campground facilities include 121 RV sites with full hookup, 89 tent sites, one cabin, two yurts, & three group tent areas. Additional facilities include a playground, a day use picnic area, & a boat ramp (open at six a.m. daily).
