Campground: Zigzag Ranger Station, Mt. Hood National Forest, Gone Creek Campground

Description: 3200-foot elevation. 50 campsites on Timothy Lake. Fishing & boating in the lake. ten mph speed limit for motorized boats. A hiking trail circles the lake, & the Pacific Crest National Scenic Trail passes by the east shore of the lake, leading north to Little Crater Lake Geological Area. In the winter, there are miles of ungroomed snow-covered roads & trails. Shellrock Creek & High Rock, off Forest Road 57, are also available to cross-country skiers & snowmobilers who can reach entry points. Location: From Sandy, go 66.5 miles east on US 26, nine miles south on Skyline Road (Forest Road 42), then about two miles west on FR 57. Season: May 13 - September 5. Available: Fishing Boating (Motorized) Hiking/Backpacking Water Sports Camping Wildlife Viewing Winter Sports Boating (Non-motorized) Drinking Water RV Sites Restrooms Boat Ramp. Notes: 32-foot maximum RV length. Firewood sold on site. Sno-Park passes are required in the winter. They are $3/ day; $7/ 3-day or $15/ season & are available from DMV or FS offices & from local sporting goods stores.
