| Central South Carolina. Three miles southwest of Chester on SC 72. From I-77 take Hwy 97 or Hwy nine to the town of Chester. The park is located on Hwy 72. two mi W. of town.
Each site is packed soil & has individual H2O & electrical hookups. Some sites accommodate RVs up to 33 feet, others up to 28 feet, while five sites are pull-through. The campground is convenient to restrooms with hot showers.
The park’s 523 acres include a 160-acre lake, itself surrounded by a two-mile nature trail through the pine forest. Jon boat rentals are popular in the warmer months & the park also offers picnicking, camping, archery & a place to simply enjoy the serenity of the placid setting.
The Civilian Conservation Corps built the park & its work can still be seen & enjoyed today. The community building is heavily used year-round, adding to the secluded park’s value as a place to both gather & get away. |
