Fourteen of Lake Hartwell’s 962 miles of shoreline are included within this park, a popular destination for boaters, fishermen & campers who enjoy easy access to the lake. With its location on S.C. 11 just off I-85, Lake Hartwell State Recreation Area also serves as a gateway to the Cherokee Foothills National Scenic Highway & South Carolina’s mountain country. An impressive collection of fishing equipment is on display in the park’s information center. Modern-day fishermen, meanwhile, can attest to Lake Hartwell’s reputation for top-flight angling for sought-after species such as striped bass, hybrid bass, largemouth, crappie, bream & catfish.
The camping area provides easy access to the shoreline of Lake Hartwell.
All sites are convenient to hot showers & restrooms.
Number of sites with electricity & water: RV & tent campers enjoy 117 paved sites with individual H2O & electrical hook-ups.
Many sites accommodate RVs up to 40 feet.
