Campground: TABLE ROCK STATE PARK

Northwest South Carolina. Twelve miles north of Pickens on S.C. 11 Driving Directions: Located off Hwy 11. From Greenville: take Hwy 276 to Hwy 11 & look for signs. Table Rock State Park is 12 mi. N. of Pickens on Hwy 11. Table Rock Mountain provides a towering backdrop for an upcountry retreat at the edge of the Blue Ridge Escarpment. This 3,083-acre state park encompasses challenging hiking trails, two park lakes, a campground, rustic mountain cabins, meeting facilities & many other quality outdoor activities. The view at Table Rock is as breathtaking today as it was to the Cherokee Indians who once inhabited this area. Built in the 1930s by the Civilian Conservation Corps, the park still features many of the quality architecture & stonework of the CCC. The park is listed on the National Register of Historic Places & is also a South Carolina Heritage Trust Site. The park provides a 69-site camping area, located near the park entrance, & a 25-site camping area, located near White Oaks picnic area. Each site has individual H2O & electrical hookups, & picnic table. Some sites accommodate RV's up to 40 feet. Both campgrounds are convenient to restrooms with hot showers. In addition a primitive walk-in camping area with central H2O is located near Lake Oolenoy.
